This is a beautiful layout!
I love how Ann has used the Moments Captured kit to create her layout for this months sketch challenge. She has done some great distressing and created the most gorgeous flower cluster with the die cut leaves, crystal swirls and those lovely big blue flowers! A little spritzing and a very happy photo make this a worthy winner this week!

                                                               Congrats Ann!  :)

Hey Savages, Kim here with my full reveal of projects created with the Swirlydoos July *Moments Captured* monthly kit. Last week you got a little preview of the projects made by the design team. Now, we are back revealing our all projects for you.
Here is the sketch again:
July sketch
Here is my take on the sketch. This kit has such a vintage feel, that I reused one of my favorite photos of my mother. I altered it a bit by printing it in sepia tone. The brown tones of the photo go so well with the blues and browns of the papers.
Even though the kits are jam-packed, I used a few things from my stash, the filmstrip, a die, the resin frame and some bling to complete the page.
July sketch
Next up is another layout. I used another vintage photo. I found this one on the Internet, I just could not find a source for it.
I have lots of layers going on here. I used a lot from the ephemera pack that's in the kit. The blue flowers are from my stash. I thought they worked better for this layout. There is a bit of stenciling here and there.
July reveal 1
I have one more layout too share and then we are on to some altered projects. This is a masculine layout. Oh how I have a difficult time with these layouts. My dh hates to see flowers on his layouts. I know those of you with little and BIG little boys at home feel my pain. Oh the struggle is real...lol!!
So I used 1 flower. It's a kraft flower, so it's kinda manly...right? I added a bunch of chipboard hoping he won't see the flower. Lots of stamping for texture ans some stenciling as well. There is distressing, inking and burlap too. All the things that make a manly layout.
July reveal
Ok, on to some altered projects. First up is a wall hanging i mad using the mixed media kit. This month the kit included piece of 12x12 plywood. It also included some distress stain and some Prima opal magic paint.
I used the plywood and the distress stain for this project. I also use the stencil that came in the project  kit. Add some paper and embellishments from the main kit, a piece of canvas paper and few other embellishments from my stash and BAM! Rustic Wall Hanging
July MM
For my last project I have the shadow box from the project kit add on. There was an 8x10 shadow box, stencil, flowers, acrylic paint and a few strings of twine in this months kit.
For my shadow box, I chose to decorate the outside for now. My anniversary (22yrs) is coming up and we are having professional photos taken. Yep, I'm going to use a photo from that for the inside. So for now, all you get to see is the outside.
I used the flowers that came in the project kit plus a few more gray ones from the main kit. My wedding colors were pink and gray , so this worked out perfectly. I did have to grab a few pink flowers from my stash.
July Project
Come back on Saturday and I will have a video to share with you on how I decorated the outside of the shadow box.

Hello all, it's Ginny here with you today!

What can I say?! This kit is gorgeous and full of my favourite colour combos, what a fabulous kit to start my DT off at Swirlydoos! These gorgeous papers from Pion and Kaisercraft are full of inspiration and can be used in so many ways as our fabulous DT will be showing you over this week.

Sketch challenge

I'm starting off with the Sketch Challenge which runs till the 31st of August. Anyone can enter and it doesn't have to be using Swirlydoos kits, so come on over to the challenges on the forum and join in!

I adored this Pion paper 'Mr Tom's Treasures' collection, so pretty, so I kept this layout quite 'clean'. A little texture paste using a 'Doily' stencil from Prima in the background and a Spellbinders die for the swirls. This layout was made entirely from the Main Kit this month, I even used one of the Kaisercraft packaging tags as they were this gorgeous teal colour that matched the kit perfectly!

This is a reminder of the sketch by Beggahuna.

And a couple of close ups - you will get used to my close ups, I love them!!

All That Flutters Challenge

This is one of my favourite challenges on the Swirlydoos forum. You just create a layout and as long as it has something on the layout that has wings/ can fly its job done! So come on....butterflies, bees, fairies.....

As you can see I used the 'butterfly ribbon' and a fussy cut butterfly from the Pion papers for my 'fluttering' element. This layout is made with the Kaisercraft papers. I used two different papers, did some tearing up of both and used both sides of one sheet and bits of the other. I layered in some of the pale blue lace. I used some of the Art Alchemy blue paint from the Mediums kit spread on in tiny strokes with one of the Finnabair paint brushes applicator ends. The leaves are cut using my new 'fav' die , that I borrowed from my Mum, its a Sue Wilson die, another item on 'the list'!
And the close ups!

Shadow Box - Project Kit

I LOVE 'Off the Page' projects (OTP)  I can get so carried away with them and I am rapidly running out of space for them all in my house as I like to keep them all!! I think my Mum is going to have to have  a collection soon! Swirlydoos kits have a Technique/Project Kit Add on every month with a wide variety and fun projects to do! This month we had a Shadow Box - right up my street!

I have done a Snapguide  tutorial of the making of this project using some of the Pion Papers and a piece of cardstock from the Cardstock Add on.

More close ups!

And lastly....

Layout - Family

This layout I have used the Kaisercraft Storybook papers but used the 'browns'. It is one piece of PP (pattered paper) with the middle cut out and turned over and placed back in the  hole and mounted onto cardstock, with lace layered up in the cut line. I used a lot of the Storybook ephemera in my layers and the 'Atlas' ribbon dabbed with Walnut Stain Distress Stain and crumpled up and dried to distress it.
The close up's :)

So that's it for today, I will be back early next week with Part 2 of my reveal!

Ginny  :)

Hello Swirly Savages! Angelica here today to reveal my projects using the July Collection, Moments Captured. These are my final projects with Swirlydoos....for it's time for me to say goodbye. I've been on the design team for SIX amazing, wonderful, great years! And been a subscriber since the beginning! This was a very hard decision for me, but I just don't have the time Swirlydoos deserves. Swirlydoos has been a large part of my life and I will definitely miss all the fantastic things that come with a kit club! Number 1..Krissy!!! I love ya, girl!!!!! I want to just take a minute to say that Krissy is the most loving, generous, kindest person I know. And you if aren't a subscriber seriously think about becoming one. You'll be happy you did! Krissy has built a little family within the club! It's not just about kits but also priceless friendships! ♥♥♥

Alrighty, on to the projects! What can I say?!? This kit is utterly gorgeous!! A beautiful mix of Pion and Kaisercraft! For my first project I went with the lovely shades of blues and black. I took a Dusty Attic Clock, a special order with Swiryldoos PERK, gessoed it up then painted it with the painted in the medium add-on.

I really love the look of the Kasiercraft papers....nice and vintage. I found a pretty image on Pinterest and used it as my inspiration. I used another Dusty Attic piece purchased from the Swirlydoos Store.

Omg...I think this is the first time I ever used the color combo of gray, brown and dark teal!So pretty!! I love the Pion floral paper so much, that I kept the background simple.

This is my layout based on the monthly sketch. I love using the wet distressing technique on Pion papers. The reason being they're so pliable. The paper doesn't peel and holds the crinkles well after drying. Also looks great with layers and random paper punching.

Here is the sketch. As always you can join our sketch challenge HERE.

Earlier in the month I created a tutorial on how to make this mini note book. You can find the tutorial HERE.

I hope that you have enjoyed my projects for all these years. If I was able to inspire you then my job here is done! :)
Farewell!
